Red Wiggler Cocoons.  Each cup comes with roughly 100 cocoons.  Each cocoon carries an average of 4 worms.  Therefore, once all the cocoons have hatched, each cup should produce roughly 400 Red Wiggler Worms.  When buying 400 full grown worms, that would typically cost $35-$65.  Save yourself the cost and grow them from babies.
 
Red Wigglers are known to be great composting worms.  They love kitchen scraps.  They are more resilient to fluctuating pH levels as well as high temperatures.  Due to their resiliency, they are great starter worms.  They will grow to roughly 3"-4" in length, and are very thin.  If you're putting them in your garden, they will typically reside in the top 6" of your soil.  If you're looking for a worm that will burrow down further for better soil aeration, look at our Nightcrawler cocoons.  If you're looking for worms that are larger and thicker and great for fishing, look at our Nightcrawler cocoons.
