European Nightcrawler Cocoons.  Each cup comes with roughly 100 cocoons.  Each cocoon carries an average of 4 worms.  Therefore, once all the cocoons have hatched, each cup should produce roughly 400 Nightcrawler Worms.  When buying 400 full grown worms, that would typically cost $35-$65.  Save yourself the cost and grow them from babies.
 
European Nightcrawlers are known to be the best fishing worms, along with Canadian Nightcrawlers.  They are also great composting worms and love kitchen scraps.  However, they are more sensitive to fluctuating pH levels as well as high temperatures.  Nightcrawlers thrive around 6.5 - 7.5 pH and 65°F - 75°F.  So when feeding Nightcrawlers kitchen scraps, be sure to add plenty of carbon sources, like coco coir, to neutralize the acidity of kitchen scraps.  You can also add Brown Banana Worm Chow to help neutralize pH levels, as our Worm Chow contains lime and oyster shell flour.  
 
European Nightcrawlers will grow to roughly 6"-8" in length, and are very thick.  If you're putting them in your garden, they will typically reside in the top 2' of your soil.  Since they burrow deeper than most worms and are thicker in size, they are great for soil aeration.
